Hi all, looking for some suggestions for a new cam. I may have wiped a lobe so it's cam shopping time. Anyone have a cam they like that isn't too lumpy and good for the street? Stock 71 440 sixpack with power brakes, so I need vacuum. A little lump at idle is OK. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I'm not a cam expert, but I like the numbers the Crower 271HDP offers. Or maybe the 267HDP if you want some more street version.

I have the 282HDP on my 400/3.75 stroker ( 10.2:1 CR ) thought and before dissasemble my car it was still my driver with A/C with that cam.

As mentioned the CROWER 271HDP is always a safe bet
or,
NOT sexy to say so..... but we've seen surprising power from the Comp Cams XE268H.... which we now consider a great 'one step up' from the factory 440 Magnum HP Cam

Not sure here ?
But you may wish to call LUNATI and pick their brains.... because if getting one ground right now ? they'd be my choice in a custom which is very few bucks extra ?

That Comp Cams sounds good too, but I like the 112 degrees on the Crower for the street. And more specific grind for Chrysler, not so "universal" like all the Comp Cams are LOL ( or "belly button" LOL )

Just saying by specs, not by experience of course!

I think the crower will need to be requested for 3 bolts gear to be installed on a 6 pack engine? I think they use to be single bolt from the shelf by most of the sellers

Never thought a thread like this it was to get just a couple of replies! I think I'm missing the "good old days"?
