I took my tank to a radiator shop mainly because I do not have a garage to work in.  Otherwise I would use POR15.  I have used their product on other parts of my car and have been successful.

maybe i should rephrase, I have an old gas tank that had old gas in it for a long time.  What products or methods do you use to clean out the inside of an old gas tank?  Thanks, RD

A length of heavy chain and what ever cleaner you decide use. The chain will help break up any crusty stuff that may live in there.

I used just water and soap, shaking it. Did it several times every one with less soap. last one just water.

after that a good quantity of alcohol and shake to evaporate the water.
