Wow. That is some weird rear wheel opening work there.   :o

The owner is a friend of mine, unsure of the fender tag status at the moment. He bought a 68 Satellite shell  from us for the rails and floor. Car lives in the st Louis Area. Last time I talked to him, it was sitting in his basement, he saving up the money to restore it. He wants to make it nice on the outside and interior, and letter it wildfire, just like as raced. Here is a pic like the week after he got it, he had it at our party we used to do:

wow small world !  that picture i posted from 2018 was the first time i have seen or heard about that charger since the owner was on here ! even now every time i see a 68 Hemi charger for sale  no matter what color combo i look to see if it was originally black with a gold interior ! to see if its wildfires tags,  think thats a rare color combo ! black with gold interior .... not that it means much me not seeing , but dont even think i can remember seeing any 68 with that combo :scratchchin:
sounds like he has a good plan use original 68 metal to piece it back together! would love to see the finished car ! that charger can definitely tell a tail said it many times before if these cars could talk eh .

Here is a board that was on the other side of the car at MCACN the shows a picture of the vin and FT, still unsure about  if he has them or not. He doesn't talk about the car much, he would rather talk about hit 73 Road Runner he's had for ages. Funny thing but the same year at MCACN we had our 72 Charger Rallye there

It was Popular or common to make those type of wheel wells in the old day. I have a old Body Paint Book from the 80's that show you how to make them out of a Special Tubing,Forgot the name of the tubing but it like a hollow electrical tubing that is soft & easy to bend into any shape, you can bend it over a big round tire or 55 gallon drum or anything to get the shape you want. Then you got the Alexander Bros Basket Weave Techniques. LEON.

I find it ironic that opening up the wheelwells is considered "butchering up the car" but cutting the entire frame/floor out for bigger tires is considered "doing it right."
