WIW - 1970 Charger 383 HP 4 Speed...

It has been a while since I have seen the car, but from what I remember here are the basics:

Original 383 'N' code HP engine with original 23 spline 4 Speed transmission (both number matching to vehicle VIN)
Original B5 Blue exterior color with black (charcoal) interior (seats need recovering, carpet needs replacing)
Was a running/driving car, but has sat in storage for 15+ years
Fender tag has been lost, but owner believes the broadcast sheet is probably still in place (will have to verify)

That is all I know about the car at the moment... Soooo, "What's It Worth?"...

Out of the 49,768 1970 Chargers they made 3,382 4-speeds. Of these 1,335 were XP's, so they are relatively rare (any 4-speed is rare). A good looking, restored, road-worthy example would go for $25,000 to $30,000 (if broadcast sheet exists)...working backwards that car can use at least $7,000 to $10,000 worth of work (bodywork, paint, interior, mechanicals, etc.) so a good price would be $15,000 to $18,000. 

Interestingly enough I'm looking at a similarly equipped '68 383 4-bbl 4-speed (do I really need another?  ), motor out of car but with near zero rust issues (a little on the roof) for $18,000. MM1 (bronze metallic), Inland shifter, console, manual steering and brakes. As these cars are even rarer (254 made with a 4-bbl) it is a decent price. I may look at it this weekend....

i would say 10k for that 70... i had my 68 383 4 speed. #'s matching, project car on there a few months ago, BEFORE prices got ugly. and it sold for $10,800.. it would actually crank up and run on a gas can, clutch and tranny were shot though. it was one of the 259 or whatever... if that 70 383 4 speed is worth 18k, then you guys are going to have a heart attack when you see what our fearless leader is getting from me at a MUCH cheaper price

That's probably a 8 to 9K car tops, and that's strictly because of the 4 spd. 

Let's get that VIN info to the proper authorities.

   Matching #'s and the 4-speed is a sweet + to the deal, the question is...What does the owner think it's worth. I always slither my way in there with..."I've bought Chargers since 1983 & I've seen the prices go from $175 to $450 to $4500 & up to $10,000." Then I'll say..."I don't want insult you with a lowball offer, so do you have a price range in mind? 5k? 10k? 15k? more?"
      Some high $$$ guys have computers who watch '70 Charger prices on E-bay every night, then there's the local guys who really don't know what their car is worth so you have to factor in the resto costs with your offer. I'm trying to work a deal with an old man and his complete but rough '69 Super Bee, but his (evil daughter says) he wants around $8500. I kept offering him $3500-$4500 saying the resto costs are huge, so come on.
