I swapped out Sidewinder aluminum heads a few years ago and last week I pulled off one of my Cal Custom finned valve covers. The black compound gasket (Not cork type.) stuck to everything sort of. I'd used copper RTV gasket to cover and a light film of grease gasket to head to allow release but that did not happen.
I just got a nice set of molded rubber gaskets with steel inserts to try out and wondering if any have used them also? I have a set of silicone gaskets but they are so floppy I can't see them staying put.  :scratchchin:

I uses the rubber overmolded gaskets from moroso i beleive. Never had an issue.

Are the heads milled on the valve cover rail? Moroso 93055 have worked very well on my Trick-Flow heads with cast valve covers. I have Cal Custom valve covers on my other 440, I'd think they'd work good, assuming the valve cover rail is milled

Overmolded Moroso have worked well for me.

I've never gotten anything but cork gaskets to seal.  Went through 3 sets of the narrower black ones, never could get them to not leak.  Use cork.
