Are Oregonians the only ones who don't pump ther own gas?

I was just wondering if there are any other states in the union where the residents are not allowed to pump their own gas besides Oregon? The oil companies are always trying to get us to do it because they say gas prices will be lower, even though the average price just across the river in Vancouver is typically higher where they pump their own. I think it should be kept the way it is because it provides jobs for the young-uns but many stations require us to pay inside as an "incentive" to get us to submit. Notgunnadoit! I just make sure I only frequent the stations where they let you pay outside.

Also, since we're on the topic of how bassackwards Oregon is, who else out there does not pay sales tax? I'd rather have a sales tax than an income tax but you know how government works, they want it all. So, until they eliminate the income tax they ain't gettin' no sales tax!

Pffft.  Nebraska has both sales and income tax.

Although we do pump our own gas.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Daddy ran whiskey in a big black dodge
bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....

New Jersey has pump attendants

Because the Unions forced NJ to keep gas attendants, some argument about the safety of having attendants pump gas instead of the public. But it's really a scam to force gas companies to hire useless people to make them become union members and to have some sort of scam employment scheme. to keep union dues flowing to the keep fat arse union bosses awash in money to fund their lavish lifestyles.

Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms should be a convenience store NOT a government agency!

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Huh? Where's that info from? I could probably go out tonight and get an "under the table" paying job as a gas attendant. Union? The guys that pumps gas by me, barely look legal.

ps- Leaving the Atlantic Nats on Saturday, I ran into a '68 Charger R/T with an Oregon plate. He looked like an out of towner who had no idea a major Mopar show was going on 10 mins down the road. Oh well, just thought I would mention it.

WoW,  just goes to prove that you learn something every day. I didn`t realize that there were areas in the country where the local Gestapo doesn`t let you pump your own gas.

No, no. It's not that they aren't letting us, it's that we don't want to.

$708k would get you quite a bit in most areas of the US I imagine. Here you could easily get some acreage and a nice house or a 5000 sq. ft. mini hotel in the West Hills. I'd spend $500k of it and use the rest to buy a Hemi Charger if I were you. Come on over, they're building houses like crazy around here.
