Any recomendations on a starter heat wrap/shield?
it's a mini starter, don't recall the brand, after car has been running it struggles to turn over.

I would use your header wrap brand if you can get it in shorter lengths. Odd I haven't heard of mini starters get that hot. Do know how old the starter is?

Check for adequate power and grounds. Ive always run extremely tight clearances and even had tube touch the starter without issue. If your headers are wrapped and it still does it, i doubt its a need for more wrap.

Don't laugh, but I remember replacing the starter back in the early 90's with a mini starter, it's probably the same one. Works perfectly when cold.
It did look great when I had the motor out a few years ago so I stuck it back in.

That's a good life for a starter.

I agree, maybe time to replace?
