aluminum slant six?

I was just reading the latest issue of the Rock Auto note end saw that they talked about an aluminum slant six!  Anyone ever have one or even seen one?  And where the and good for modifing or rebuilding?  Weight had to be the big advantage although the picture they had showed it with a four barrel carb and big runner intake.

It was designed to be aluminum initially but in service maintenance for aluminum was problematic to the uninformed.
