Do I just bypass the ballast.

I think I know the answer but just checking.  I installed a RTR distributor, directions says it does not need an external ballast.  So, do I just short all the ballast wires together?

yes... OR trick out the ballast on rear, replacing the resistor with a jumper wire on groove just for the stock look on firewall. On diagram/pic dual ballast is shown but the same for single ballast

Hey Nacho, great diagram -Thanks!
I'm in the middle of new wiring going into a buddy's 69 500 and yes, his new dizzy wiring will be modified.
Would you know what the stock ballast resistor ohms value is at all? He has 2 of them but only one was installed. Cheers

this is the common value for them

however on dual ballast there are also with the 0.5 ohms value for the primary resistor, and there is also single with 0.8 ohms ( tipically included with the MSD coil and MP elect ign upgrade kits)
