Fits perfectly, you decide, nay or yay. Notice the trigger to shift gears. Mocked up for pictures.

There's another brand where the whole shifter handle pushes down to shift gears.

It seems to me that it would need a greater forward tilt to look and feel right.

Think the way it sits now would look about the same as the 4 speed shifter handle

I think a button on the top would have looked better

would loose the "pistol" deal ;)

I think there are couple of manufacturers more with similar idea.

P.S.: I don't understand ppl using this on E and 3rd gens auto. Nothing like the stock T handle for autos!

False. The stock handles always had a strong forward tilt so they were comfortable to hold.

Yes if you compare grip angle with shifter stick itself but need to consider angle against the floor and shifter location with driver position. Auto shifter gets more travel from end to end I think.

More angled grip will compromise the P position against the dash

I broke 2 of the chinsy aftermarket replacement t handles from year one. So i put an auto grip in my car. I havent broken it yet.

This is probably gonna seem sacrilegious on a site like this, but a pistol grip shifter is less than ideal on any manual transmission, especially modern Mopars, they should know better....

For the most precise, quickest shifting, a ball is where it's at, and your hand position changes with each shift. The only time you should hold it like a pistol grip is the one-two shift.

Just like the originals LOL. There is no a big diff between them, except for the cheap button and bezel chrome job on the repros.

I wonder with 3D printing if they could make the T handle stronger. My friend's Charger, I'm thinking it was a 71, had a T handle that was broke. This was in 77 or 78 or so. My 70 Challenger had the ball that I owned in the late eighties.

the other diff is the repros don't get the button preload spring in them and the bezel doesn't snap on like the original, just keep in place by pressure. But they are not bat for the price being a "Mopar" piece. On my repro T handle the chrome worn off after 3 or 4 years ( my car was REALLY a driver ) and I reinstalled original T handle chromed pieces ( including preload spring ) still looking good into the repro T handle and the fitment was perfect. Nobody would tell is a repro T handle.

3D printing ? is the 3D printing plastic really stronger than the original ? and what about grain pattern? dunno.

I agree.    I have a PG on Betty cuz that's what I ordered from Keisler a long while back now.

Frankly I only use the palm of my hand on top of it to shift.   But it gets the oohs and aahs from people.   I get it.

I preferred an old Hurst T-handle with a button for the line lock personally.  Maybe I'll go back to it  :shruggy:

As for the auto pistol grip...  no thanks.

Me having a '68 I say NO to the auto Pistol Grip. I want zero woodgrain in my interior. And I love the 1966-68 chrome shift handle/mechanism/design.

Over the past few months, it occurred to me that the woodgrain on the console looks strange anyway. Why is it there? Unless the car had woodgrain on the dashboard, what is the point of having it on the console?

They only considered 1 option for production - make 'em all woodgrain!      It's just a decal.   Aftermarket options are available.   I might change Betty to the fake black leather whenever.

They probably done it to save money.  With the SE package, it would have made them have two seperate console lids.

I do understand. It just seems like a random thing. The A body cars got fake woodgrain on the dash so it has some continuity there.

I really love the look/feel of a pistol grip shifter for my 68.  I switch back and forth pretty much every other year as I also like the Hurst Ball type shifter as well, especially for racing.

I don't care for fake woodgrain so I searched for about a year until I found a shifter ball and set of pistol grip shifter grips that were worn as much as my steering wheel which is worn to the point you cannot see the grains anymore.  :Twocents:

On that point, did the sticker overlay you ordered look like it was going to work, until you had to modify the lid? I still have it saved in my eBay profile.

Thank you.
I actually DID buy it.  I had an automatic trans console plate to modify.  The shifter hole was made to fit the shifter boot that came with my kit. This made the decals too short! I have the decals still in plastic and went with another method....See the thread!  :2thumbs:
