I pretty much know for the most part usually 10K gets a rusty carcass with no grille, interior etc. and i do know that there still out there that people have no idea on values.

it was said in the wanted ads 25K usually gets a car that might move under its own power but will need 25k in body work which is probably true..as i see some real winners on Ebay like the orange 68 listed now thats bid to 35k

so what does 35k into days world get..for a non R/T?

A lot of problems

I cringe at todays prices and consider myself lucky to get this car 20+ years ago when it was turnkey but needed a new top and paint...I scored it for just a few grand. Now rusty rollers go for 10 grand? Ouch!!!

68/69 Chargers that need major resto work are some of the worst deals in the classic car world these days.

It's getting ridiculous for some time here in the U.K. and Europe for 68-70 Chargers , not many come up for sale but when they do they are £50k-£60k + at least

Any that come up for sale for £35k-£40k ish get snapped up quick no matter what problems they have

Dealers especially try and ask ridiculous prices.....

This one is about the best deal at the moment as it's a genuine RT but still not very original....

You are talking $35USD correct ?
The sad reality is $35K probably isn't going to buy much except a commitment to spending even more down the road..... unless you are able to take your time, inspect and research in finding a good one(not always possible either)
just say'in....
pressure within the market can sometimes make due diligence difficult.... not impossible... but difficult.

Well Hold on, good deals ARE out there but it's a Combination of timimg/Luck and most important having cash in-hand ready to pounch AT A FAIR PRICE! I bought my lastest for $31K nice all original, loaded with options and documentation and most important of all no rust (but had dents and dings needing attention)  I won out after Many other people tried to "low ball" him. If you find a good car expact to pay market or near market value

That was a rare bird you got there though. I was tempted to buy it, even though I already have one......

I think he could have got a lot more money for that car, if he had it on eBay, instead of here.

I see a lot of disparity between the ask and sales prices I can verify. If you go to Ebay and look at only the "sold" auctions you see a very different picture than the asking at the plethora of dealers you are looking to make 20K on each car.

I realize this is NOT a 1968 or 69 .
But I  know someone who bought a non rt 1970 last year. running and driving car . Original 318 auto and factory air . Rust free body. White with black interior  for $30k

He drove it around quite a bit till this past fall . Car is currently under the knife getting a 440 stroker , 5 spd and vintage air . He started tearing it down maybe 2 months ago . Should be back up and running here in a few weeks

Im not 100% sure but other than the added stripe I think he bought it pretty much as shown here . At the most he added these tires and wheels .

Thanks Sir, I agree,  when I disassembled it for paint I didn't have ONE stuck or rusted nut/ bolt, a real pleasure! I even found 1973 maps in the door map pockets! I consider myself very fortunate
