I just bought a 74 N.O.S. front valance that is in real nice shape. Not the one that just sold on Ebay. The problem is, is that I have a 72. I was just wondering if they are the same,or fit each other. I noticed the 74 had bolt holes toward the back under the bolt holes for the front plate bracket and it looks as though my 72 doesn't. To me it looks as though it will fit. Also the person has a nice 74 trunk lid for sale too. Will that fit my 72? The difference that I see is that the trunk key hole looks to be different. Do the body lines line up? He wants $250 for it but it has some surface rust underneath but nothing major. Just wondering if these will fit and what other 73-74 parts fit? Thanks for the help. Craig.

will fit... only difference are: the frame rail brackets, but they are not hard to modify... and the holes to the front shield as far I know, since 73/74 front splash shiled is bigger and attachs to valence same as fender itself. Don't remember how exactly is that difference but I know there is some on that area. Anyhow, I'm not sure what holes you are talking about. The only difference I remembered was the shield itself.

Any modification you need to fit, won't be noticeable from exterior since matches with fenders cut outs to valence

about trunk lid... yes only difference is the cilinder, but match with rest of body.

what other parts are interchangeable even not necessarillythe same:
-Mostly of wiring...
-Except upper and sail panels, all the interior.
-Hoods.
-Fenders.
-Frame Rails
-Floor pans.
-All glasses except quarters.
-Bumpers.
-firewall and cowl.
-A/C and heater system.
-of course, engines, tranny etc... with right mounts.
-Grilles.
-Roof.
-Taillights.

There is a lot of different ways to mix up parts, and there is a lot of details to think on about interchange. there is also a lot of details and differences I have not spoken here, but this is the basic info

Nacho- So if I have a nice 73 rear bumper all I have to do to make it fit my 72 is take all the mounting brackets off and put my 72 brackets on and install it? Thanks for your help. Craig

wil fit with the same 73 Brackets, but will need to keep teh rubber bumper fillers since brackets are elongated to fill with those fillers the Bumper/Body Gap.

also when you remove the bumper fillers to use your existing 72 brackets, will have a hole on top corners where corner fillers are bolted up... Not sure if quarter extension will hide enough.

also about bumper guards holes... I'm not sure if they are the same than 71/72... I think yes.

But yes, they phisically fit perfect on any way you choose to fit.

73 bumper is also a little bit stronger.

73 and 74 rear bumpers don't have a slot for jack HOWEVER, they have a small "C" cut out on lower lip to fit the jack nail. just visible when you upside dwon the bumper

one note... you can try to remove the frame rail brackets from your 72 valance and attachs on to your new 73/74 valence. Is juts drill the welding points and attachs on same place
