original 1969 sparewheel question

Hey guys,

i've bought a set of 15 x 8 steelies for my 69 rt.
I'll need to have them painted B3 color to match them with the body.
Did the spare also came in color from the factory? Or was it standard black?
If so i'll have the spare painted too.

i think the spare was black only if you had wheel covers !  dog dishes you had a body  color spare ! , i a wait to be corrected  

just a thought !  what size tires are going on the  wheels ?  i have 5 wheels  15 x 8 ,   at all four corners & in the trunk too , with 255 tires , that size as a spare  will not  fit in the stock location , i had to move the hold down bracket in mine

I have 255/60 on my 4 corners with 15x7 rallyes, but got a diff tire for the spare matching the diameter ( have SG ) on stock 15" steel wheel, but not same width of tire for a comfortable fitment on trunk. I can't recall now which one was, but ended being a white line one supposelly for trailer!!!
