Damn dude. Sorry to hear that. I have family in port orange and we hit daytona for spring bike week usually. Im familiar with the areas you are in. That same scenario is becoming more common and wide spread. Our local leaders up here in baltimore city went on live tv during our "unrest" a few years ago and are quoted "the police are to stand down and give those who wish to destroy, the room to do so"

Thanks man! In all the years we lived in Vegas, I never saw anything like this. Metro would have split skulls!

OUCH!!!! If that happens to me I don't think will be able to fix it back... not at least soon.

Doesn't seem to be a hard job, but dedicated.

Rear valance... well could be time to replace it for a 71/72 without the large cutouts for bumper guards.

I think the fender is the one it hurst more to me ( BTDT )... The rest is about get it straigtened or patched, but  front of fender.... ouch

Thanks man. I have located an entire 71 donor car so it maybe a  new build with this motor and trans. We will see. The front bumper is toast. It is bent in the middle and twisted. I am going to try to full the fender out if I possibly can.

Dude, they were all acting fools. I didn't know that BS was in town and I was trying to get back to the interstate to get home. She was hauling ass in a 45 zone.

Nacho-RT74

My front bumper got worst and is quite fine now... everything is fixable, just the front fender corner is the harder ( to me )

Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

Hello Nick,

So sorry you had to deal with this. But I'm glad that you're okay. I remember you coming over and cutting off my roof skin that went onto your Charger. I feel somewhat attached to your car lol. But this does suck and worse because of idiot drivers.

Don't know which direction you're leaning but if you go the fix up your '74 route I have a pair of front frame rails (73-74 B Body only) that you can have (you pay S&H). They are western rust free rails. I don't know if I showed them to you while you were at my place.

No hurry (I actually have 2 sets).

Tough break.  Sorry.

Glad you're okay though.  That could have been a lot worse.

Ghoste

That hurts.  Glad you're ok though, cars can be fixed or replaced but only one you.  That doesnt always soothe your mind when you are ok and the car is banged up but its the truth.

Mytur Binsdirti

That's a car guy's worst fear. Glad you're OK, but it's an aggravation that none of us needs.

Nacho-RT74

I don't think frame rails suffered significantly on this. Not the front at least. Rear floor panel looks got damaged more by the gast tank extra brackets than some frame damage. At least from the distance.

70 sublime

Yes it sucks that it happened
But glad you are OK

I hope everyone had car insurance to get this all fixed up
Hard to put a price on things when you did the work to get this far

But on the other hand it was good that you were out driving your car and enjoying it instead of just washing it and letting it sit in the driveway

Todd,
I said the same thing to our county Sheriff, and he more or less told me "but did you die". His (and the city of Daytona Beach) attitude was nobody got killed (although there were several shootings during the event) so everything was a success!

Mike DC

Civilized well-run countries don't need their police to "crack skulls" in the first place.  They don't have big widespread riots like this.  These are symptoms of deep chronic sickness.

Is lawlessness the answer?  No.  Of course not.

But neither is brutally stopping the riots and then going back to business-as-usual.

We need to deal with this stuff very carefully and make real changes to the system.
