the previous owner did some drag racing back in the 70`s and he had the times and engine setup written down.
he sent me this today:

2bbl carb single exhaust, 2.76 open rear, 17.02/81.54mph

carter avs 4bbl, single exhaust, 2.76, 15,74/88.75mph

carter avs 4bbl, single exhaust, 3.91 posi rear, 15.55/88.93mph, slicks

carter avs 4bbl, dual exhaust, 2.76 open rear, 15.59/92.40mph

850cfm thermoquad, facory castiron 400 manifold, dual exhaust, 2.76 open rear, 15.33/94.84mph

when i got the car it had carter avs 4bbl, factory 383 castiron manifold, 3.23 open rear, dual exhaust.
The open 2.76 followed the car.

real fun to get this info  ;)

I wonder who he was racing against ?  A Tank maybe ? :scratchchin:

Hello guys! Long time since i posted here.. last summer i had alot of fun with my car at a show in sweden, i actually won the bracket race! Not my first time racing, but first time racing with the charger. And it runs so smooth.. changed the rearend to 3.55, small burnout every time with the M/T ET street 275/50-15, set the shifter inn 2 so it shifted from first to second itself and didnt use third at all. Do not have a tach so not sure about the rpm after 1/8 mile.
I run 9.95/9.92/10.0/9.89

Did also celebrate my car 50th birthday in november

Wonderful.  Thank you for sharing.  I wish we had the same long days in summer.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....
