So, not very often does a second gen charger come up for sale here in Aus, and when they do, they snap up fast especially at this sort of price range. Considering the dollar to US atm, this one is a fairly good price for Us in OZ.

i will say it will be snapped up within a few days.

My thoughts is that it's an ugly color, under the hood is a mess & the ad doesn't tell much.

jefferson

Thats true, to be fair tho, its still considered a project, although fairly solid project would still need more work done to it clearly, But seeing as the price considered in OZ isnt too bad, its fairly tempting.
. Yea color isnt to flash hot. Would like more info on the car, ill contact the bloke in a day or two and find some more info. Not a fan of the exhausts either. Id be chucking those and putting 2.5inch flowmaster dual, chrome reCT tips on it.
Hate those exhausts, look shocking IMO.

jefferson

i know its hard to tell from the photos
but i cant see any obvious signs of rust/ bubbling?/ any other junk.
Anyone able to point out some issues i have missed.  :shruggy:

Ghoste

I like the color but I agree its a mess underhood and the ad doesn't tell you much.  That prices is Aus then?

Challenger340

That would be $41,000 USD,
and again here.... not great Pics or descriptive.

Hard to tell from the Pics, but are those bondo'd over rear valence corners I see ?

Because if they are I'd be OUT anywhere close to $40K USD for a 383 Car.  Just a pet peeve of mine, but IMO indicative of the quality as anybody that would Bondo over valence corners in my opinion would't hesitate to mud up a bunch of other stuff to make things 'look' just ducky when they ain't !
Only wimps wear Bowties !

The valance corners could be welded over, the seams don't have to be filled with body filler. I haven't done it but I think it would look cleaner than the way they are originally. To me, they look sort of crude in stock form.

chargervert

The problem with welding up the seams and blending the corners in,is that people automatically assume that the car is a bondo bucket when the seams are filled in.

Exactly. With my car, I hung the quarters back in 2006, using Goodmark skins and rear valAnce from YearOne, nowhere near the quality of AMD and had to weld those seams and skim with filler.    Some day I would love to do the quarters over with better parts, but for now I guess I will just have to live with my car that I obviously didn't hesitate to mud up.

There is a very talented guy that does YouTube videos...He constantly refers to that panel as a VAY-lance. It is not a VAY Lance, it is a valance with a soft A between the V and L.
His metal skills are amazing though.

darbgnik

I like the color, personally.

But there are a lot of question marks about what you can't see, from the things you can see....

Tweaked front bumper, misaligned front hood. Makes you wonder. Shiny paint can hide a lot of evils.

That would be CBR :2thumbs:

To say "Valance" just say "Balance" but drop the "B" and replace with a "V".
