Arm Rest Mounting Plates

On a 68 Charger RT w/ Black Interior, I bought new arm rests and the mounting plates. I noticed that the new plates are plastic chrome.
I found a set of, what I think are original mounting plates, and they are black.

Can anyone tell me which would be the originals ??

All of the Chargers and cars with the deluxe interiors had the chrome plated style.  I have never seen the longer front style in the black or color keyed variety.  You do see the base cars like the Road Runners and Belevederes occasionally with the black style base plates.

Also in other colors to whatever the interior color scheme is on non Chargers.

Green, Blue, burgundy etc.
