I just put 10 mouse traps in my building. I will put moth balls and dryer sheets in my car soon. Then plastic or cardboard under it otherwise the floor sweets and the car gets wet.

Make sure that all your body plugs are in, especially the lower trunk floor extension ones and there are no holes through the firewall that look like even an ant can get through. Cover your upper cowl "grill" slots, they love to squeeze through those and live in your vents and heater box.

Hardtop.. tape the junction between the door and rear window seals with electrical tape, the buggers like to access the car from there as well.

And it is amazing what a small space they can squeeze through.

You need to find a better place to store it.

The old wives tale deterrents arent effective, killing them is the only way.

I HATE storing equipment/cars in mice infested areas but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do...steel wool also makes a good exhaust/hole filler, they won't eat it unlike basically every other material known to man. Good luck and if you have good access to the building check on the car frequently to look for dropping etc. I had to pull my truck out of storage one winter when I found droppings on the carpet, made alternate arrangements mid-winter.

I spread a bag of poison rat/mouse baits around the perimeter of my home every so often including in rain gutters/roofs and the top of fencing.

All good ideas and very timely.  My son's "new" project car is slated to occupy the bay where my '68 normally slumbers.

Thanks for the added comments. My bldg is not completely tight but has a concrete floor and good roof. I check it regularly  and have never had any damage from mice. Just thought I might remind some it is time.

Mice have free access to the interior through the lower cowl drains. I blocked mine with wire mesh. Also the antenna wire grommet hole if you don't have an antenna cable.
