in veru specific detail where is number 1 cyln.....so i get a timing gun on this car to see where its at...i also need, 

what kinda vacum should it be pulling....

points gap and dwell

spark plug gaps

i own no literature as of yet on these cars....so please bare with my ignorance...lol....but im trying to get it ready for registration and to put on the street this week......

another thing would poor vacuum cauase a heating prob?...

did 69 chargers with 383 with a 727 come with a fan shroud??

Yes they came with shrouds. They make a very big difference in cooling. Year One.com will have one for you. The spark plug gap should be around  .035 for the stock ignition. The vacum should be around 21" at idle on a 2 bbl car and around 18" for a four bbl car if it is stock. Set the timing between 10 degrees and 12 degrees btc to start with. A car will run hot if the timing is retarded too much. You'll have to ask someone else for the gap and dwell questions. Im thinking .019 on gap but ask someone that knows.

cyclinder 1 should be front on left bank. on any engine the head that is closes to the front of the engine the front cyclinder will always be number 1

Oh, sorry, I forgot to mention that. The cylinders are odd on drivers side, 1 3 5 7, and even on passenger side, 2 4 6 8.    The firing order is 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2. Big block is counter clockwise.
