That is great.  Thanks for posting.

Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

I was amazed as I watched you build it Charlie. Still love the look of this car with the classic day 2 stance. Pure gold.

Very nice! Love your Charger. Very similar to the '68 Charger my son and I have; a 400-based 500" stroker that we wanted to achieve our goal of a reliable, durable 11-second street car. But it's performing so well, we are now aiming for the 10's with it, as well!

440-Source 500" stroker (400-based), with solid lifter cam (can recall exact specs but I can dig those up), Mopar M1 single plane intake, ported edelbrock heads, 11.1 compression, 1 7/8 TTI headers, 8 3/4 read with 3.91s, 3500 stall. Hoosier DR2 295/15" drag radials and 40 year-old air shocks, lol!  This combo made 618 hp and 612 tq with 2 1/8" headers but I kept my 1 7/8" headers from the old engine, so I'm sure that's hurting me a bit. But the two factors REALLY holding me back are the stock 5/16 fuel line and the transmission not shifting properly (having an issue with the kickdown and have to let up slightly for it to shift). Still, ran 11.4 at 117 the first time at the strip with a DA of 1500. Full interior, etc.  Just bought a TurboAction full-manual valve body to eliminate the kickdown, and will go to 1/2" fuel line, and some double adjustable rear shocks, and we will see where that puts us. If we aren't hitting 10.9 by then, will go with the larger headers next.

Will do! Good luck to you in your quest for 10's. Sounds like you're nearly there.
