A383Wing

Front sway bar seems to me MIA also

Kern Dog

Yeah...I thought the sway bar was standard on all Chargers.

the lower part of the fire wall is green and so is the radiator support. why didn't they spray them also. at least for that kind a money ya think that would of been done or even rattle canned to match the rest of the car.  ::)

Where do you see Green? :scratchchin:

JB400

People need to learn a thing or two on stance.

Birdflu

I think it's the first Charger I've seen with an 8 1/4" rear end...  :hah:

 I had a 70 Charger 500, back in 1985 that had one.  318 auto

The 8.25 rear was on the small block cars from '69 and up.

Along with some 383 2 barrel cars.
I am working a deal on a 1970 XH Charger with a 383-727, bench seat-column shift with A/C and a 8 1/4 axle.

It is...and I don't even see the sway bar end ink tabs on the lower control arms to attach one to.......maybe that's why the bar is not on the car

Not all small block cars had the 8.25. I bought a 318 car from the original owner back in 1974. It had the 8.75.

There is a Chrysler service bulletin dated Feb 5, 1969 that had the 8.25 repair/overhaul information because it was not in the original service manual (I assume because the 8.25 axle was not available/in production when the manual was printed). Below are two pages from the manual (courtesy Hamtramck Historical).

One page says the 8.25 axle "will be introduced as a running change in the first half of the 1969 model year". To me, "first half" would be Aug to Dec/Jan. The Charger I had showed a March 1969 SPD, so...  :shruggy:

I have seen 318 cars both ways. Mine had power disc brakes and power steering. Maybe the options affected which axle was installed?

Kern Dog

Thank you for that. I like the tech bulletins.  :2thumbs:

At first glance the car looks nice with it's nice shiny new paint. But looking closer looks like Earl Scheibed Perfume on a Pig. Besides 1/4's & trunk floor being patched appears some or all of the floors front & back been patched. The metal work far from the best I've seen. BUT, For people that like to make money off of fixing & then flipping these cars what do you expect, you couldn't restore a car right & make money off it unless you got some super rare 6 pak or Hemi car, Daytona or Superbird or Convertible. what Leon Said , cars a perfumed pig , who knows whats hiding under the base & clear paint  :scratchchin:  lot of corners have been cut , more you look the more you see ,   first thing I noticed was  no sealer  for the roof water got in already maybe ..... :scratchchin:

myk

I see a car that people who dont have stupid-rich money like Jay Leno or Oprah can actually buy and enjoy.  Does it have flaws?  Sure does.  But I dont see this as the rolling scrap heap that everyone is making it out to be.

If this charger is so bad, then I Guess I might as well drive mine to the local wrecking yard and let em crush it.  Furthermore I envy everyone here that has such a splendid car that doesn't have a list of faults on it.  Meanwhile I'll keep driving and enjoying
My lipsticked pig...

That is why I would never a car on this site. Everyone else cars are perfect. lol

My car is a 'pig' , it squeals a lot. I have to keep it moving so people don't get a close look at it. I was MORTIFIED when at a coffe and cars type thing another guy (with a very nice General Lee) wanted to see under the hood to look at how the factory wired something. I went ahead and let him look after making it clear it was ugly under there. Fortunately what he wanted to look at had not been molested in the past so my shame was helpful to another Charger guy at least.  :eek2: I simply like to drive my car. It is no trailer queen, that's for sure!

The cars not that bad, it's the Price that is bad. Joe Average can't afford to buy this for $44k in my opinion. Nothing wrong with selling perfume on a pig either, just sell it for perfume on a pig price, like $25k in my opinion. :shruggy:
