This should make for some lively conversation...
"God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him." John 3:17, NLT

Racers For Christ Chaplain (www.teamrfc.org)

"restored to perfection?"

Where does one begin to contradict that statement ?

taxspeaker

"Everything new or restored to perfection. This has to be the nicest one out there."
This statement begs for critical comments!
Just in a glance at the engine compartment:
Wrong upper radiator hose
Headlight vacuum hoses incorrectly routed, no tie downs
Hood latch tray painted body color
Battery bolts incorrect I believe

The real sharp eyes will rip the above statement apart.

farm966

He sure likes that one....at that price I think he will look at it a while. Nice looking car, but a little pricey for a 440. I guess a little pricey for any 'bird actually, but if someone buys it and they are happy that is all that really matters I guess.

Mopar John

I don't know if it was the shop or the owner but someone likes the shiny body color everywhere!
In addition to the latch tray look at the hood latch and the leaf spring shackles.
The whole car was painted body color inside and out and featured in the pictures.
Heck they even deleted the under coating in the wheel tubs and inner fenders!
There are some out there who will like this!

You said it.

The closer you look at the car, the more wrong you see.     But it IS very shiny.

The stainless bolts to hold the fenders on drive me nuts the most, what my painter was expecting me to do with my Bee. Fortunately he went away for a week and I convinced his #1 man to blast and paint all my hardware (that would have been assembled before paint at Ma Mopar) while he was gone.  :yesnod:

So glad my Bird is a factory undercoat car... will make life real easy if I ever bother to restore it..

Lotta bread for a V-code 'bird...he may own this one for a while...

a lot wrong with this one. I would assume 2 shill bidders at over 250 k.  Car is worth 180 or so.  Hemi money with the BIN. Why do these sellers think this is realistic.  :shruggy:

i am fairly certain i've seen that garage from previous ebay listings. including one for a bird

seller's id was once hanks37coupe or something similar to that

Unbelievable. It went for 325,000 + 10% buyer premium or 357500! Numbers match, 4 speed bench with dozens of restoration errors.

Daytona earlier only went for 150,000 + 10% premium. Non numbers match and did not see the car for why. Seems 1 is way, way too high, and 1 is way, way too low

Alaskan_TA

It actually says 'reserve not met'.

bebeep1969

Sold at Mecum today for $357,500.  That's TOO MUCH
1970 FJ5 V-code 4 speed Superbird
1970 FY1 V-code 4 speed Superbird

taxspeaker

Sorry, should have said Mecum.

In either event an unbelievable price. Good for him. The buyer really wanted a 6 pack 4-speed, numbers match and it was worth that much to him to get it, so good for him too I guess. For the rest of us, Wow , again. Reminds me of the copper Daytona sold to David Spade for roughly a million. If you want it, that's what its worth.
