I have a 72 petty blue ralley charger. I looking to ditch the plastic stick on dash cap and do it right. Anyone used Just Dashes before?

To do it right, make sure you have a steel core.  Call Dave at rosevillemoparts.com, he can either get you the right dash or provide the name of someone who has them.

I think there is a discussion about that at FBBO. Has being discussed several times here, at 3rd gen charger board and some other, specially talking about 3rd gens since they are a bit "harder" to make them correct from the earliers ones. Justdashes was THE way to go, untill their prices came out to a crazy quote rates. There are some others offering same quality on 25-30% less than justdashes. Carolinasuperdash or something like that is one of them.

Just dashes = "Just Gouge Me"  :smilielol:

Never used them.

After I was done talking to the rep at JD I had on the phone, I was convinced that I wasn't going to use them. He wouldn't just do one pad (my '68 center A/C pad, black) he insisted that I had all of my dash pads redone so they would match. Keep in mind my other pads didn't need restored and they were black. He said that they didn't want their customers complaining about the pads that they restored wouldn't match the others that they didn't restore. Yeah whatever blah blah blah just a money grab. "It's FREAKIN" black". I don't want to hear about how there are different shades of black when it comes to vinyl pads (exterior paint job yes) but pads no. And even if it does't match I'll dye them, I can do that part. Just need the foam, vinyl covering, stitches and the shaping part.

Okay I'm done venting lol.

I think they could be more worried about the grain pattern match than the color itself. But whatever, it's at each owner own as far they are warned

Agreed!, JD wanted to make sure the grain pattern, plus the "puffiness" that the JD process ads to the item recovered looks uniform to the human eye, a factory part next to a JD recovered item is rather obvious, I've worked with a few JD covered items over the years including a 71-4 B body pad, it had it's issues after coming back, but nothing major, the grain texture was very smooth, barely noticeable, but the dash appeared slightly puffy when compared next to an original....

Although I haven't used an ABC 71-4 dash pad, I have heard more good than bad about their fit/finish in comparison to the other offerings on the market

I sent my center section, factory 69 Charger A/C car to them. They would not do the one piece. When I told them to send it back they said they would talk to me the following day. They did call me and offered to give me the additional 2 cores at no charge if i would have all three done. It doesn't have anything to do with the grain or color match. They don't do the fake stitch. Therefore they would not match. I didn't't care about the stitch and I did have them do all three pieces. Total cost including return shipping was about $850.00. I think they look great. Having said that,  this will be my driver, so I'm the only one that has to be happy with it.

It would seem one of the biggest issues is finding a replacement dash pad with the correct grain in the material.
Purchased one off eBay (superdashpads). Nicely done but the material and grain is not even close. Going to sell it local to recoup some costs. If I need to pay more for correct I will do so.

nowdays, when times comes to me I guess won't be worried about the correct grain pattern but REALLY nicelly done. My car is 74 which uses a diff grain ( similar grain but softer ) than 71/73, so I guess will be HARDER to get it closer to the correct one

1973rallye

That's a good point Nacho. When I ordered they never asked the year so I just assumed the grain pattern and material were the same 71-74. Oh well. Live and learn.

something less to be worried: 3rd gens are 1 piece dashpad and don't need to be matched with any other interior piece, sooooo I'm sure won't be worried about that LOL, just being sure is NICELLY done, all edges, curves, grooves etc good finished...
