Recommended in 1969

Hi,

I was wondering what type and brand of oil was recommended back in 1969 to use for a 440...
Didn't come up in my google search...

The FSM recommends OIL by weight and it is similar to engines today except...I saw no recommendation for any weight below 5W20.  Mostlly it says use 10W30 and up with a MS type oil.  Check page O-12 in the FSM.

Yeah, back in '69 about all you needed to know was the viscosity but now, with the deletion of additives like ZDDP, the API Service Categories are all important.
