A12 Superbee

I think Hemi Orange was first available with the release of the A12 Superbee's in mid 69, but how soon afterwards could you get a Charger in V2?

WANT: Triple black 68 or 70 Charger!

The V2 announcement Bulletin came out on March 3rd...

When I was running the Registry, the earliest documented on the tag V2 car I had was a 383 2bbl that had a SPD of 1/21/69 built at the Hamtramck Plant.  Odd since the bulletin came out in March?

The other followed with SPD's in late March...
The earliest St Louis plant V2 car had a SPD of around 5/1/69.

the earliest "HEMI orange" '69 Chargers I know of are:
XP29H8B - V2 - 317 SPD

This doesn't address the original question about V2 Chargers, but - AFAIK, the A12 Sales Code was added about a month before V2 Hemi Orange was (officially?) introduced as a color to the Dodge A & B lineup.  I've never understood there to be a connection between A12 Superbees and the introduction of V2 (or for that matter, K2 Vitamin "C" Orange and A12 RoadRunners), although maybe I'm missing something obvious?

Like Chris, I'm also curious about the introduction of an actual Paint Code (V2) on a Fender Tag before that color was released and incorporated into normal production.  Shouldn't it have been coded as "99" Special Order, like Omaha Orange would have been?  I can't read the tag very well... perhaps there's something unique about the VON/SON?

I will check tonight but Im pretty sure that is still the earliest one in there.

That is the best/biggest pic I have.  Nothing special about the VON either.   Who knows  could it actually be a "Y" and not a "V"???  maybe someone with some photshop skills could edit the image to clear it up??

Dan, the 3/17 car does have a special 940 VON as you know...
