Now that my charger has been sold to its happy new owner, I'm going to check out a 69 GTX vert with a 440 and 4 spd.  Now, I know the 4 spd cars got the Dana 60 rear axle and I'm not too familiar with them.  What should I be looking for and how can I tell if its the factory installed one (date code)?  I'm vaguely familiar with the Dana having a rear inspection cover on it unlike the 8 3/4 rear but is there anything specific that I should be looking for? From what I can tell, the car looks solid and is fairly clean but needing a good detailing which I am very well capable of and eagerly looking forward to getting to work on it if a deal can be made.

Thanks in advance !

Have a look here - if the date and numbers jive with the numbers on the chart you should figure out if it's original to the car or not.
