I'm stripping my Charger down for paint and am stuck on how to get the stainless quarter panel trim at the rear side window off. How is this piece (and the associated cat wisker) attached?

I am guessing as I have a 73 but similar mouldings on the quarters. They are usually held down with clips that are screwed into the body.
I believe you need 6003145. Looks something like this.

Best way is to probably pull the interior panel off and reach under. Hopefully the nut is not too stuck on.

Can’t tell on 71/72 but 73/74 hardtops ( pot metal ) got a bracket attached down the catwisker which needs to be loosen. And also a speed nut on the “boomerang” corner aside a phillips screw on top.

If 71/72s are similar, will need to remove upper interior panel, roll down the glass, remove catwiskers ( their brackets are sliding kind clips just like the cowl to hood seal ) and will reach the trim bracket screws.

71/72 and 73/74 door trim is kinda the same attaching method, just than the brackets are not attached but part of the trim, and catwiskers are attached with screws too instead clips.

Maybe quarter glass opening molding is like doors on these?

I have the interior panels all off and have run my fingers up inside the quarter panel but couldn't feel and studs/nuts. I'll try popping the cat whisker off and see if there are any obvious means of attachment. I dug through the parts book, but didn't see an illustration of this particular piece.

The cat whiskers came off by prying up while inserting a small-bladed flat screwdriver into the clips. The stainless trim was held on with screws that were hidden behind the cat whiskers.

So just like the door ones, just the catwiskers are attached diff as mentioned

The tricky part was getting the cat whiskers off. I tried prying up and prying down and nothing seemed to be working. Eventually, I threw caution to the wind and decided to risk destroying the cat whiskers.

That trim does not have speed nuts. It snaps on a piece of plastic that is attached to a metal stud.  You have to go slow and gently  pry/pop it off the plastic tabs that hold it in place.  You'll need a strong putty knife or a flat tip screw driver.  Be careful.  :Twocents:  There may be one speed nut per side, close to the window.
I believe the cat whiskers have to be popped off too.

They're off and I'm leaning toward not reusing them. I'm thinking that without the rest of the SE trim, the car will be cleaner and sleeker without them.
