Anyone run these or have any input on fitment. TTI is prob the best bet. But just curious on the hookers.

Had the 2" versions on my old 440, were a pain with edelbrock heads. Cant recall which tubes had issues but plug wires were the biggest problem i had. Even with hefty dimples, it was still hard on wires. No issues with chassis or starter. Mine was a floor shift with manual steering box.

I have straight plugs, power box, mini starter

Straight plugs would have fixed 90%of the issues i had. Im not sure on the power steering as mine was manual. Im sure someone else on here has run them and can attest to the clearance there.

yes , they are in my scrap pile now,  worked till I got tired of burning spark lines and taking for ever to change plugs.  I went with dougs headers option.  fits great and no dinging necessary.  (I do run power steering, Power brakes etc.)

In summary for a Mopar engine, if you want headers than you have to by a decent product which is $$$.  This is a great option which can save you some bucks off the wildly popular TTI headers.

So ur super comps had to be dented etc to fit??

c00nhunterjoe

Mine had to be dented with angled plugs. What heads were on yours mopar 0166?

Fwiw, i had 1 3/4 hedmans on my 383 and they fit great with the stock starter, and power steering. No dents or dings, plenty of room to work.

I have 2 1/8 ttis on my indy headed 440, they fit like a glove as well.

I used to run the Hooker Super Comp with Iron heads and it would hit the Torsion Bar on the drivers side. I had to dent it it. Switched to TTI's and no problem.

440 source stealth heads. I think ill just go with tti . Sounds like the better of ideas

Wow? Thats crazy. On mine i could get 2 fingers in between. Shows how bad production tolerances are.

Put some on my buddy's 440 and had to dent them up on both side's to clear the torsion bars. Even with strait spark plugs had to use them thermo boots on the plug wires to keep them from burning them up. I have the headman elite long tube's on my RB and the driver side only had to be dinked at the gear box and at the torsion bar to clear. Passenger side was fine and they work fine too.

Also I like your color and stripe combo, man after my own heart!!! LOL  :2thumbs:

sorry for the late reply,

yes I have eddy heads.  and they had to be dented especially around cylinder #2

mopar0166

with the angled plugs , they were a huge pain.  I finally sucked it up and spent more money on a set of dougs headers.   great piece and mirrors the tti headers but are less money.

ive had them now for 3 years and its the best money I spent.

I'm using Hooker #: 5903HKR  and I love it's

I guess if you don't have angled plugs, they would work better.  I just found the design and fit of my dougs headers to be so much better.
