Has anyone purchased one of these stainless tanks from Van's? Are you happy with the fit and quality?
I think it is a good idea with this crappy fuel we have now a days. I was considering getting one for my '70 road runner. I am concerned it will be too shiny and stick out and look funny. How do I make it less shiny and more like a regular steel tank?

I have one, not too shiny, not like my 304 stainless steel exhaust is.

Um, fog it over with flat black or grey paint?

Somebody makes a dedicated "radiator paint" which supposedly doesn't hold in the heat as much as normal paint.  I dunno whether that's BS or not.

I have one. I think it looks great!  It fit well also.  I hate rust and buy stainless anytime I can.

Just use some 3M Scotchbrite pads to "brush" the finish to the desired sheen you want, anytime you have the opportunity to use stainless components in the fuel or brake system, it's a no brainer....

:iagree: Paint might flake off over time. Scotchbrite will do the trick.

Wish they had them available earlier...   I was looking for stainless before I bought the regular tank   :-\

Even a new tank is no guarantee that after sitting several years with ethanol gas it won't get rusted the F up.    I've seen / heard of at least 2 cars in the last couple years needing new tanks replaced after resto due to sitting too long unused.
