Have some questions about the Eddy E street cyl heads. See bottom. First
I have a 1971 440 rebuilt 10k miles stock build mild cam.  Long story short I had a exhaust leak from the drivers side exh manifold. I pulled of the manifold and found the rear stud had broken off in the head. Not enough room to drill.  I pulled the head and drilled out the stud and tried to remove the stud with a easy out.  The easy out broke off.
After many drill bits i got it out but damaged the threads so there is only about half the threads left.  Since the Exh studs go into the coolant passage i worry about having a problem later or coolant leak on the road.
Since its more expensive to find -get and  rebuild a set of used iron heads i was looking at the Eddy heads.
Questions are , Do I need longer - shorter push rods. Will the stock style rockers shafts fit. Are these bolt on and go heads. Should they be checked out before.
Thanks.

If you're really looking for a reason to buy new heads.. go for it!! IF not, drill for the next bolt / thread size up and find / make a custom stud or helicoil the head hole to remain standard stud size.

I'd guess you'll have to get custom made push rods. But that's easy and fairly cheap.

I only have experience with the RPM,s but basically the same head. They should be checked over for valve guide clearance, valve sealing and a look over for any issues at the least, something you could probably do yourself. Yes you can use the stock rocker set up and most probably you could reuse the factory push rods if you want - but that does depend on a few variables. You will need to mock it up and see. Ideally you want to pull them down on a level deck.

I was also thinking about installing a helicoil. I will try that first.
Thanks.
