bigger is better, trust me... check on my topic on my sig... at the end of thread you will se an engine bay pic where the alt is vissible... any alt just like that will be great, trust me. I made that alt upgrade precislly to get better A/C performance, specially becsuse the blower comsumption...

Those alt are availables on any later 70s Mopars since all laters 70s Mopars where highly optioned to balance the Power drivetrain detunes.

Is not the one our cars came with, but is the best you can have from OEM Mopar.

Our ones original from factory are with center of stator coil visible from exterior and squareback double field alt housing...were rated as 65 amp like max output ( stated by my 74 Mopar catalog ). This is only referencial pic about how looks the stator, since this looks to be a roundback ( one field ) alt to electromecanical regulators system ( pre 70 ):

another output rates stated on catalog with alt PNs are 34, 41, 50 and 60 amps, howeven along the Catalog itself are mentioned some 85 amps L/N alt and 86 amps Motorola alt units when are reffernig about brackets and alt stuff specifing about assembly changes with ones or anothers ... ??? weird

This is from 70-71 catalog that it could be the same to 72. Info posted earlier by me is from 74 and it has different PNs however it looks to be similar...

Below the alt PNs yo find some alt stuff PNs and on items descriptions makes reference about 60 and 65 amps alts. On my 74  on same items makes reference about 85 and 86 units but doesn't mention PNs with that outputs rates alternators ???
