Oil dipstick tube

Decided to replace my engine oil dipstick and tube. The one currently installed is chromed Taiwan repro junk. I guess I need to drop the oil pan and tap the tube out from the inside? I don't see any other way but maybe someone in here has some thoughts on how to do this without dropping the pan?

Thanks!

IIRC, mine just pulled out when you remove the bolt from the block at the top?

Bolt removed but the tube is not moving at all. Tapped gently on the neck at the lower end of the tube but it wont move. I will work a bit more on it, dropping the pan is kind of the last option... But it might end up as my only option.

The chrome makes it a tight fit. Drop a bolt (the largest that will fit) into the top of the tube to keep it from collapsing and then clamp Vise-Grips on the top of the tube. Give it a twist to loosen the tube and twist back and forth as you pull.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
