Correct Driveshaft Length for A833 with Dana

The driveshaft in my car is clearly too long, as the slip yoke compresses the seal at the tailshaft when installed.  When I bought the car it had the flush seal in it and so did not cause a clearance issue with the seal.  I just rebuild the trans and installed the seal that extends back an inch or so and noticed then that the shaft must be too long.  My concern is that the long shaft may bottom out so I am planning on having it shortened.  Currently it measures 52".  What would the correct length be for my car?

I went from a 727/ 8 3/4 to a hemi 4 speed and Dana, my driveshaft was shortened to 51 inches..

:iagree:

68 FSM says 50.96 inches for the 440/4 speed/Dana, pretty sure 70 would be the same. This is measured from the centerline of the front yoke bearing bore to the centerline of the rear bearing bore.
