A" Mad Max" modified 69 Charger is being used as an Uber car in Seattle, yup.

I just noticed how much this car looks like the 69 in the video game Half_life.

I can't help but imagine the builder was inspired by it.

Actually, you noticed it when you started this thread.  ;)

Hey everyone. I was poking around the interwebs for old event pics and stumbled across this (admittedly very dead) thread. The Charger in question is mine. I've updated the car a bit since these pics were taken. As someone above predicted, all of the mods are 100% bolt on/off reversible (minus the holes for the new Daytona wing). This car has been a ridiculous amount of fun. I initially built it primarily for messing around at Wasteland Weekend but I've put 100's of miles on it doing all kinds of stuff - including commuting. Hooning it out in the desert is where it really shines though. In the last year it was in a short film, magazine shoots, a music video, and will be in an upcoming feature film. For 2017 I (so far) plan to start my own small film projects and compete in the Gambler 500 off road rally. Long term I intend to restore the car once I'm done playing and finances allow (and after I've built a replacement).

Happy to answer any questions if you have them.

Cheers!
Chris

Question: Where do you strap down your blood bag?    :shruggy:

I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

I could see this thing down at Burning Man!  Do you have plans to take it there someday?  That photo shoot would be epic!

Here's the music video it was in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xarqIWTtZk4&oref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DxarqIWTtZk4&has_verified=1

A lot of people compared it to the Half Life 2 car. I am a fan of the game but I swear it was coincidental. I just happened to have a yellow Charger when I started! The comparison happens less now that I have a Daytona wing ;)

With the tunnel ram and velocity stacks I already have visibility problems so alas... no bloodbag strapped to the front. The cargo rack up top would work well for that though. I've had six models up there at one point so I'm sure it'd hold.

I doubt the car will ever make it to Burning Man. I'm in Oregon and it's already plenty expensive getting the car and all of our gear to WastelandWeekend every year (post apocalypse desert festival in Southern Cal). Plus I worry about the fine dust of the playa vs the much coarser (and more easily filtered) mojave dirt. It's a fresh 440 in there and I don't really want it dead too prematurely. I suppose that's another fun fact: All of the mechanicals - engine, trans, rear, brakes, suspension - are freshly rebuilt and done. It looks like it's fresh out of the wasteland but it's closer in reality to fresh out of the Summit catalog.

Bonus points if you can identify the grill behind the metal mesh. And another pic from a film shoot for fun because how many 69 chargers go off road these days?

Mopar forever!

Chris,
What sized rear tire did you have on the rear? I am starting a build somewhat similar. Wanting to get 31's on all four corners.
