How to remove trans fluid

I was getting on the expressway this past weekend when all of a sudden I saw smoke billowing out behind my car. I got off the expressway and was looking for a place to pull over. Stuck at a light the car did not want to move, finally I got it moving and pulled right over. The trans cooler line came off my external cooler, the fluid was sucked through the radiator and went everywhere under the hood, under the car, brakes all over everything, even up the back of the car!
I got a spray bottle of soap and water and sprayed off as much as I could and cleaned it up pretty good however it is still pretty much everywhere. How should I go about cleaning this off? Should I go to a coin op washer and hose the underside off? I really am trying to avoid getting water on everything.

I'd start with a pressure washer with a washing tip and fill the soap bucket with some grease cutter like Simple Green and go to town. Wrap up the carb with a plastic shopping bag and some tape so you don't' get water in. If you can get it up in the air it will make cleaning the bottom easier.

They make engine de-greaser products that you spray on an wash off but not sure you want those on the body paint.  :shruggy:  I have always had good luck with Simple Green to cut oils/grease.

I'd hit the car again with just water afterwards to try to wash off any cleaner residue.
