Hey guys,  I turned my heat on for the first time today and the whole car filled with what looked like smoke but didn't smell. It was coming from the vents. Nothing is leaking that I can see but what would cause this. Thanks

Troy

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

you have a leak inside the heater box.....probably the heater core itself....

Did your car have a body job done to it with lots of sanding ?
Dust from body filler if this is the very first time the blower has been used  ?

No. I'm pretty sure it's the heater core. Just checking

Would have thought if it was water leaking it would have leaked onto the floor long before now and not just because you turned the fan on

the water will go out the drain tube if it has one....but if it's just a pinhole leak, it may not put enough coolant into the heater box to leak on to the floor.....

If you have a blown heater core, you will smell radiator coolant in the car, and you should have coolant coming out the drain tubes protruding from the firewall just above the transmission housing.  You might even have coolant dripping from the bottom of the HVAC box.

Blower motor smoke?

Have you turned the heater back on since then?  Does it still blow smoke?

I wouldn't think the heater core gets hot enough to vaporize the coolant.

If it is a leak, may or not be your heater core.  There is always the H-valve and/or the rubber tubing that connects a few things in there together.
