I am debating as to whether or not I should add A/C to my 69 RT/SE that is numbers matching but did not have A/C originally.  My concern is I would decrease the value as everything else is original.  Looking for thoughts.

I'd go with the aftermarket if what you are after is AC. Save yourself a lot of headaches and $$.

If you're after an OEM AC setup you have to source (among other things) a new heater box, dash pads, air ducts, controls, compressor/brackets/dryer, at least one of the engine lines is 1 year only big block specific one made of unobtainium... the list is probably much longer.

I don't think a bolt-on, bolt-off solution like the Vintage Air hurts value at all.  To me it would increase the value the cost of the kit.

I wouldn't add A/C to a numbers matching non A/C car.  "IF" you decide to sale it in the long away future, you will loose alot of value by altering the car from its current original condition.  The small group of people willing to pay more money for a all original car, won't want it.

It's your car and if you would enjoy it MORE with A/C (and you wouldn't have considered it if you won't), ... do it.
It can always come off.

In reality, there are no "bolt-on/bolt off" kits, all require drilling lots of holes which automatically alters the car from original and leaves the holes once the system is removed.

Since I'm not an "original nut" it would be a small tradeoff for the comfort factor but others might not agree.
