So, recently i took delivery of a mopar 440 out of a motor home and now I'm having issues getting the engine mounted properly in my '69 charger. The motor mounts just won't line up right to let the bolt go through so that i can firmly attach the engine to the k-member. I have attempted to get the engine mounted more times than i can count. I have tried lowering it into place at different angles an what not, without result. The right motor mount always gets forced out of alignment when the left one drops into place. I have tried to mount the right mount to the k-member before letting the left one drop into place but i haven't been successful in this way either. The motor mounts are for a mopar b-body with a big block engine so there is no chance they are at fault. There has to be something simple that I'm just not doing correctly, if anyone has any idea what I'm talking about please share your experience/knowledge, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've attached i picture to help you visualize my problem.

Get a big punch and pry it into place. It will go, just need to get the pin on the mount to line up with the hole.

If the tranny is attached, be sure that it is loose from the mount to allow side to side movement......

...... and leave the mounts lose on the block if you are not already.

Don't count out that the wrong mounts might be in the right part number box. Been there not with motor mounts, but other stuff. Frustrating!

Thanks for the suggestions! What i ended up doing was cutting the bolts that hold the rubber dampers a bit shorter, I guess the bolts were touching the engine block causing the mounts to be to far from each other. After I cut the bolts i had no issues, the engine just slid into place. That's what i get for buying refurbished/non-original parts.

This has been a common problem with aftermarket motor mounts. The last car I did needed mounts. I had to cut 1/4" to 3/8" from each bolt/stud.
Thanks, cheap ass Chinese company...

 what KD said  :yesnod:

... have heard  some of the repop  engine mounts don't  line up &  or the rubber is of a questionable quality  ....  because of this when I replaced mine ,  I used Schumaker  ( spelling )  stock OEM  type replacement ones ,  fit & function  perfect  :yesnod:

I had to do the same thing recently.
