I haven't posted on this forum before but have made new threads and lots of replies on Aero cars section .  My question to all you electrical gurus. For any old mopar that got a single ballast resistor that is burnt out, will your car start and run while the key is in the  "start" position?(forget about tearing up the starter and ring gear for the moment)lol  And then shut off when the key returns to the "run" position?  I know the answer but I had two so-called gurus tell me that the car won't start at all .  Who's right?  :shruggy:

engine will "start"....but will die as soon as you let the key go back to the "run" if your resistor is bad

You are 100% correct!!! Now I also said to them, on this  other site of course, that the same thing will happen if you pull one clip off the ballast resister. They said the car won't start . One of the know alls said he went out in his garage and pulled the wire of his Charger and he said it wouldn't start . I told him he was full of it, no difference. BTW , the is a site on facebook called mopar muscle car . These guys talk like they know everything and I know by the way they talk , they know some things . but they certainly don't know old Mopar ignitions systems .
. lol
