Hey fellow Charger enthusiast!

While decoding my Chargers fender tag, I came into some codes that I cant resolve.

I have a roof code of V1h, and 3 different wheel codes in a rown, W21, w25, and w 26, which I cant find anything about w26.

There is an interior color of g85, which I cant find any answer to.

An exterior color of c35

An unknown color of 0285

And un unknown code of 035, right below the wheel codes

And I cannot understand why there seem to be 3 different wheel codes?

Ive already looked on every decoder site on the net, and I just cant find the answers. Any help or imput is appreciated. Thnx

So, its a mystery why it has 3 different wheel codes, as well as a code for a 225 slant 6, and a 318 at the same time? Some of the other codes I just cant find any reference to anywhere?

Look at the back side & get a clear photo. There are multiple errors there 'as typed' that a clear photo can help clear up.

BS post! Who in 2016 has a phone without a camera or a digital camera? Unless your over 80?

cooldude

Honestly, I have no cell phone of any kind. Some of my family have one, but they arent always with me.

Ill try to round one of them up and have them take a picture of the vin tag.

While we are here, does anyone know what the code of V1H means? I looked it up on some websites that say that it was the code for the mod tops in 1969, but only then, no other year.

Obviously mod tops were not being produced in 1973. So it must be the case that Chrysler was simply re-using some old codes for a new product that was offered in 1973.

I don't. I guess that makes me old and afraid of change.

Alaskan_TA

No need to fear change. You can use it to buy stuff.

Take more time to look at it. Check the back if the front is rusty.

Those "W"s are most certainly "M"s - molding codes common on all tags. They are grouped right before the correct M31 you have noted and they are usually all together.

"V1H" is probably "V1X"

"0285" is likely your interior code based on its placement of the tag, so a couple of those numbers are actually letters.

"C36" is actually "G3G"

and so on......

Looks like you have a plane-jane 318 medium blue 73 Charger with AC. Should be a nice cruizer.

I agree, V1X is a black Vinyl top. G11 is tinted glass.
I am guessing that 035 is actually G35 - Outside LH Remote Chrome Mirror.
H51 is Air Conditioning with Heater.
Let's see a pic of the car while you're out buying a smart phone so you can take pictures   :2thumbs:

OK, Ill do it as soon as one of my adult kids will agree to spend some time with ole dad out in the shop photgraphing an old Charger.

I have trouble getting them to lite for a minute and be still. They just run the roads and go go go.

I used to think that dads were sometimes the most underappreciated people on Earth...until I became a grandpa!  :eek2:
