440 install 73 charger

Quick question I'm getting ready to drop my 440/727 in my 73 and I already have the transmission in, but it looks like it's sticking to far into engine bay. I would think the bell of the transmission would be just a couple inches from the firewall but mines looks to have about 4 1/2" from the fire wall to the end of the transmission bell where the motor mounts. I have the transmission mount installed to the back mount already, the car has a big block kmember, it's an orginal 318/904 car, is there a deference in the back transmission mount? And does anyone know have a measurement of how far the end of the transmission bell should be out from the firewall?

I think the transmission just wasn't setting straight, I need to just brave it and drop the motor and see how everything goes in.  Throw caution in the wind.
