Hey, any of you guys remember a pretty cool Mopar magazine from back in the 1980s called MoPerformance magazine?   :2thumbs:

I believe that they were based out  of Bensalem Pa.

I really liked that mag, but they seem to have went out many years ago. I cant remember what happened to them?

what happened was they were sued & put out of Business by Chrysler for not wanting to pay royalties. LEON.

It's been many decades, but IIRC the mag was first titled High Performance Mopar, was out for a few years, then Chrysler remaned it's Direct Connection parts program Mopar Performance, and claimed that HPM infringed on their copyright, so he changed the name several times to avoid Chrysler, IIRC it was changed from HPM to Moperformance, then More Performance for the Chrysler Enthusiast, but Chrysler was hell bent on hitting everyone for royalties/licensing , Year ONE got hit hard, as well as a few in the cottage industry of repro parts, decals, emblems, etc

The way I remember it with my memmory going back to the 1980's, His first Magazine was called Mopar Performance. Chrysler sued saying you can't use the word Mopar with out our Permission or paying us Royalties. SO, He said OK, I won't & wont pay you royalties. SO, He thought he had a way or legal loophole around it by dropping the Mopar & just calling it MoPerformance. Chrysler said no, we don't think so, that still sounds to much like Mopar & we don't like it. Get rid of it. He said no, He would not cave in to the big Corporate giant. SO, They sued him again. Fact is he did not have enough money to fight Chrysler's big $ high paid Lawyers & had to fold his Tent & go home. I respect him for not selling out.
