What are the chances these will fit on a 74 charger? Is the 72 very different?

Thanks in advance?

HPP

Yes, there is a difference. 74 has isolated K frames and longer t-bars with an isolated rear mount. I'm not sure if this impacts the actual floor pan or not, but it may impact the connection to the stock frame structures.

IMO, if you want connectors, make your own with 2x3x.090 steel tube and a couple of plates. Material cost may be around $50 and you can cut to fit or bisect the floor as you choose.

I was worried about that. Thanks!

I think i am going to throw together some sort of basic laser scanner to "scan" my floor pan, and then CNC plasma cut some rails! Being an electrical engineer does have it's benefits!

Sounds cool, but will be a lot of work for minimal to no gain over regular tube. The only benefit of the contoured type is that they look more like the factory did it. They are no stronger, and actually may be less so in the nominal heights, than the straight box type. They also require becoup' lots more welding and require you remove carpet and padding to install to avoid catching things on fire during the install.

But, they do look nice and are better than running without.

Not worried about the carpet, the car is a rust bucket and COMPLETELY torn apart right now. And that factory finish is the main draw . I'm likely going to completely replace the frame from bumper to bumper. I'm not worried about keeping the car original at all. A 318 auto car that everyone told me to "put it back in the junkyard", so i'm just going to have fun with it.
