Can one find out what options came on car if they still had records at a dealer

 I was wondering if the dealership still had records if they could trace back the history of the car and options that came on the car.

Not for cars from this era. Back before the 80's everything was a paper record. The dealers tossed their stuff every so many years. Today they have access to many years previous because they have always existed in a digital form. The factory maintains the digital archive and gives dealers access to it.
