I'm surprised S&M didn't unleash the back-half of the leaf springs.  It's a trick that works well!

I've seen pics of the S&M Superbird both with and without a hood scoop.  Does anyone out there know the rhyme or reason of when it had the scoop and when it didn't?  Also, was it an A-12 style six pack scoop?

I believe running the hood scoop/flat hood was determined by which class the car was run in SS/E or C/MP.

I was at a car show a few years ago where there was a Sox & Martin tribute with many of the remaining team members present. I asked Dave Christie some questions about the car. He told me that the car was only run in about 8 different drag race events in 1970.
