I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

I'll take Richard's 18 wins and 27 top 5 finishes out of 40 races in '70 over the competition.

We might get a different poll result if this site was PlymouthRoadRunner.com instead of DodgeCharger.com.

IMO

Daytona good
Better body shape, less production,

Daytona not so good
No 6pk, No pistol grip, easier to replicate, horrid bucket seats, some horrid colours

Superbird Good
6Pk, pistol grip, harder to replicate, great bucket seats, better detailed, decals, beep beep horn etc (like it or hate it), better rear wing, more recognised (Petty, Cars movie etc), great impact colours

Superbird not so good
Roadrunner has an older style, more produced.
NEW ZEALAND (aka Paradise)
1973 De Tomaso Pantera GTS widebody
1970 Superbird, 6pack, 4 speed, Tor-Red, Buckets, restored by Julius
1970 428 Cobra Jet, 4 speed, calypso Coral, white shaker
1970 Boss 429 KK2457, Concours, Calypso Coral (SOLD)
1957 Chevy truck, big rear window, ocean green, STOCK!.....nice!

Nacho-RT74

some of the diff is because the production options added by the year ( colors, buckets, engine ), not really car's fault.

but... what about if the Daytona survived up to 70 ?

( now wondering why didn't )

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

70 Daytona's don't have rear window plugs

I'm not as savvy on wing cars so forgive my ignorance, but what is that chrome thing on front of the green Daytona in the last pic. just a brush guard of sorts?

1970 cars (esp wingcars) saw a new Federal law requiring front bumpers as mandatory equipment, that's why all the 1970 Superbirds had to be completed/built before Jan 1 1970 to skirt the law

The Purple  70 Daytona had modified 63-7 Vette bumpers on it, J.Junerman removed them during it's restoration in the mid/late 70's

The B5 1970 Daytona sports a similar "bumper" also like the green F6/F5 70 Daytona

Ghoste

I've always much preferred the styling of the Daytona over the Superbird.  Which is kind of funny considering that the Plymouth was the one the stylists were allowed to muck up before production.

In 69, Nascar considered the nose of the Daytona to be the bumper, hence the 1" rubber piece, between it and the body.
In 70, Nascar considered the nose rub strip as a 'bumper' on the Birds.

FYI - those are my feet under the photo of the 70 "Daytona".  I consider that car the first clone!

It's what some used to refer to as a nerf bar.
