You might have noticed that RTV has become somewhat specialized, different formulas for different uses.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

A great all around RTV is Mopar ATF RTV!  I worked at a driveline shop that was owned by chevy guys. They would give me guff about my "Mopar junk" but even they admitted it was the best stuff to use! They always keep it in stock for the work they do.  Make sure it's Mopar "ATF" RTV!   :Twocents:

Thanks guys!  :2thumbs:  (Yes I noticed the "specialized"...RTV's and added the use intended in my question.)

Picked up Ultra Copper as it was the only convenient recommended choice.  :scratchchin:

Ultra copper is great, you'll have no problems with it.   :2thumbs:
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Late to the party but also give high recommendations to Ultra Copper.

Ultra copper is my choice as well for engine assembly. It has done me well and is easy to clean up for the next time.

I feel compelled to add though---I think the use of copper is a sales thing that seems to be a trend these days.---I am going with it. :slap:

We all know that copper is a good conductor but that is a non issue for what we are using sealer for. The copper has nothing to do with sealing :Twocents:

BTW I don't wear copper in my clothing.---For fear the meth/tweekers might want to recycle me. :eek2:

Do you guys use RTV on the head gaskets?  I have always just installed them on clean surfaces with no sealer.   :shruggy:

With a composite style head gasket there is no sealer required. With a steel shim gasket I've used the spray copper coat stuff but I only use those (steel shim) gaskets with a factory cast iron head.  ;)

Don't forget you can call Todd at Marsh with any questions about the heads.
