He probably thinks he's telling the truth.  With the value on these cars,there are going to be a lot of opportunists coming out of the woodwork expecting to get rich off of whatever Charger they've managed to find.

Then again, he didn't say that Chrysler installed the sunroof.  Only that it was a factory sunroof and I'm sure it was likely made in a factory someplace.  ;)

Chris G.

The guy is all over the place. He's got a '68 front and a '70 rear stripe. The sunroof is the real kicker though. :rotz:

He also added Chris' website.

Definitley not a factory sunroof Charger. Some people :rotz: .

What got me was this line.

"The car has a VERY RARE factory split sunroof ,1 of 206 with a factory sunroof check the VIN."

Ok the "VIN" is gona say 1 of 206, "VERY RARE" sooo rare they never made one.

Factory split sunroof? probably in the early 1980ds.

And the 68 front end,... I missed that, was to focused on the sunroof.

What would it take to repair all the problems it has? Geez

He's going off what the previous owner told him. You can tell him that he has a "RARE" 383 Hemi and he'd believe it.  ::)

I saw that one the other day & did a double take. I expected to see a "factory sunroof" but then saw the dual porthole window. I then gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking that maybe it was a factory sunroof car & that he managed to find an aftermarket sunroof to place in the hole because parts wear out, they're hard to come by, the budget wouldn't allow it.......blah, blah, blah.

But then I figured out someone just cut a damn hole.

At least he posted the question/statement on the auction where someone challenged the "factory" description of the roof.

I caught that one too.
If he even knew half what he thinks he knows, he'd realize that the VIN doesn't say squat about the sunroof...the fender tag does.

The guy's a putz.

I also like this line;
Quotethe trunk floor should be replaced its been sealed with por 15 and patched with rubber to keep out exhaust fumes
::)

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I saw it the other day, I can't believe how some people have no clue, do they think that no one is going to call their bluff? "Check the VIN". He should check his brain function!

Actually the M51 code is not on the fendertag either......it will be on the build sheet.
The only other tip off on the fender tag will be the "928" order #

I read somewhere that you could get three styles of sunroofs for a 69 all metal power sunroof ,a one piece glass "moonroof" or a  split glass "moonroof" the "moonroofs" where not very popular and they stopped production on them  partway through the production year. I can't remeber where I read that but it was in the 80's in some magazine. Maybe I'm mistaken but I had to jump in on this one

Welcome to the site :cheers:

You are mistaken though.....there was only one power sunroof which was all metal with no glass

Not a factory sunroof car.

Chris is right the VON number on the fender tag will tell you if it was a factory sunroof car or not. Not the VIN number.

THE CHARGER PUNK

you know besides that cheesy sun roof that car is pretty nice. its body looks all good nd staright engine looks in good running condition and trunk is fairly nice as well. all you need to do is convert the green 70 seats into black 69's and consoles from green 2 black as well and anything else thats green in there,then change the grille to a 69,then change rims to repro magnum 500's. and as for sunroof take it out and add an aftermarket one that just pops out and add a vinyl top to roof and small vinyl piece to sunroof, then add trim around the edges of the sunroof so when not in use it looks like a stock sun roof car as it would when the sun roofs out-MATT(also change that bright ass yelow to black or something :D
