I received the following from Dave Schultz.  He's selling his MoparStyle website, it's a good one, not at the level of DC ( of course ! ) but still it's first rate.  He's retired and, well, you can read the story here.  I would think that many DC members have visited it.  Here's your chance to be a Mopar web monster and pick and choose your own moderators and make your own rules.   :o

On January 1, 2002 I created the web site MoparStyle.com – primarily as a forum for the more friendly Mopar enthusiasts to discuss the topics that interest them — both on and off the Mopar Topic.

Now in my sixties and retired — my lifestyle has evolved to where my main focus in life is spending time with my grandchildren, drag racing, and crossing a lot of items off of my bucket list — while I still can. Over the last couple of years I've been down-sizing my life with selling my businesses, moving to smaller home, and selling off the stuff I no longer use. At the end of last year I dissolved my Family limited Partnership and my children's trusts (distributing it to my five children) in an effort to simplify my life of the investments and tax accounting.

This year I'm focusing on closing the last of my businesses, selling the cars and parts I've accumulated over the decades, and to sell my websites and domain names that have value — so I will no longer need to maintain them and the server they reside on.

As such, MoparStyle.com is one of the web domains with strong brand loyalty value that I'm selling. Before the members panic — let me say that MoparStyle will not disappear, it's just that I've neglected it, and it should go into the hands of someone who can  dedicate the proper time I once gave it. In the first five years of MoparStyle, I actively recruited membership — and the site benefited from that effort with high activity. Twice a year I would contact Mopar vendors and get $10,000 of product donated to auction off, by simply calling and asking. I would actively pursue advertisers for paid banner advertising. Quite honestly, ten years ago it was quite expensive to run a site  like MoparStyle as we needed a dedicated server, and I worked hard to cover the costs. Technology has changed so much that a dedicated server is no longer required — and I'm spending a ton of time and money for something that can be done for less than $50 a month on a shared server monitored by the hosting company.

There are many potential buyers who could make MoparStyle.com work to their great financial advantage — while at the same time provide a better experience for the members than I've in the last few years had the time for. They include a group of existing members pooling their resources to purchase and market paid sponsorship; a magazine group looking for an established site/audience for an eMagazine; to a Mopar Vendor looking for a captive audience for their advertising; to a philanthropist  who has the time and money to just finance the web site — as I originally did.

If you think this is a fit you — and you BOTH have the money for the initial purchase and have (either yourself, delegate, or assemble a group) the willingness to learn to administer for smooth running, promote for increased membership for the activity we once had, and solicit paid advertisers to make it all worth your while — then email me your proposal (both price offer and how you intend to run the site) to davetheoldhippie @ gmail and I'll consider it — if reasonable. I have a reasonable figure in mind that I will be holding out for, which will fairly compensate me for building the brand — yet be fair to someone (or group) who is fully serious in taking MoparStyle.com to the next phase. Don't ask me to give to you — as that kind of charity won't happen. You will need to be as serious as I was 14 years ago, to take it to the place beyond where it has ever been. The sale will include ownership of the domain name transferred to the buyer, the forum (software license, membership, and data) as it now is, and the classified ad site (software license and data). There is also a Facebook Page for MoparStyle pushing 9000 members, a Facebook Group for MoparStyle Classifieds pushing 2500 members, and a Facebook Group for MoparStyle Racing Classifieds with almost 5,000 members. This newly created Facebook exposure has great potential for increasing activity to the site, and the administration of which will also be turned over to the new owner.

I will obviously help the new owners make a smooth transition.
