I'm not going to go through all the responses to see if this comment is here but one big problem is knowing where to go. The US is a big chunk of land and unless you've got a couple of weeks it's going to be tough to see many cars if they're spread out at all. Therefore, you might try to concentrate on some areas where rust is/was less of a problem. In other words, stay away from the northeast. Maybe stick to the southwest (California, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, etc.).

Also, $20k is kind of a weird middle ground for Chargers. It's not enough to get a good one. You're almost better of spending $10k or less on one needing a full restoration or bumping it up to $35k (or so) and try to find one that needs nothing or next to nothing.

Damn! Gotta wonder if that's a complete rust free California 68 Charger R/T. Interesting, maybe he doesn't really want to sell it thus the lazy photos. Might be one of those wifey things.

Wow! I'm surprised at the angry response from caveman number one. Seems like he took out some unjustifiable  insults and hostilities on CB restorations which I don't think Cbrestorations deserved for merely keeping up his end of the bargain. From what I read he gave the kid a deadline and the kid met the deadline. Caveman, I don't think he owed it to you or Tina to break his word just because Tina is from a foreign country. Seems like cb restorations  and others were  trying hard to help locate another suitable car for her.  This forum is full some of the most helpful people you'll ever find who try to do anything they can to help strangers locate a cars, parts, or to fix a problem with their cars.

good luck in your search.

Nice 69?!  What nice 69?!?  It's a picture of a physical photograph that the picture-taker is holding in their hand:rofl: The second is of a disembodied engine bay.. the paint color seems to match, but who knows!  Lol two crappy pictures.. $45k please!  This is either a scammer or a moron or both in this clist ad... standard really for craigslist.  I can never understand how someone could logically ask for thousands of dollars of other people's money and provide only a couple of crappy pics and a few lines of text, complete with misspellings and grammar mistakes.  FFS.. almost every word-processor out there highlights these problems!  Do people really sell $45k cars with these feeble 3-minute efforts?  :shruggy:

I agree with bull but think spending a little more is the way to go seeing that the cost of a full resto will wind up being a lot more. I paid about 28k then put 2k into it and have a car that I can drive anywhere.

Forget 68, I think it will be very hard to find a decent 2nd gen charger for 20k, especially not being in the states and able to jump on any possible great deal (read decent 2nd gen charger for 20k) as the good ones will go quick.

Good luck finding your dream car! If I see anything, I will post it.

Tina

Nothing like: forget 68, will not happen  :coolgleamA: We will be still looking, praying and hunting for one  :P  you never know..

Once again, we are not looking for restored car, so we know we can put 10k more and have it in better shape, but thats not our path.
